EXPLORING LIGHT AS A MEDIUM

I explored how I can use light and shadow to enhance my work. I experimented with how far I could push the idea of a "lantern", and how I can use the principles of 3-D Design to amplify my ideas. I experimented with shaping, sculpting, and manipulating light throughout my investigation, both inside and outside of the vessel. I restricted and maximized the light's ability to exit the vessel to strengthen the contrast of light in my work. My artworks display movement, form, repetition, and contrast. Light and shadow unify in my work and create a more aesthetic and artistic version of lanterns.
